Jeremiah is Awesome

I’ve always wondered what I’d do if I could go back in time or, at the very least, what I’d say if I could talk to the younger (far-less-likeable and bearded) version of myself.

Unfortunately, I’m not Marty McFly and I’ve got zero access to a time machine.

What I do have at my disposal is another dude named Jeremiah who, in addition to being hilarious, also had the foresight to plan 20 years in advance so that he could do precisely what I’ve longed to do and chit-chat it up with his younger self.

Given that this is absolutely genius and will inevitably go viral within the next 24-48 hours, I figured I might as well get all y’all, My Faithful Readers, in on the ground floor of this one.

So without any further ado peep the awesomeness that is A Conversation With My 12 Year Old Self: 20th Anniversary Edition:

This dude is pure genius. Right?!

Honestly, I kinda wish he wasn’t named Jeremiah. I love sharing my name with someone this awesome, but that was a big part of my schtick, I was the funny guy named Jeremiah, now that’s out the window.

Unfortunately, this was so good I can’t even hate on the dude. I’ll just have to be content to be the second funniest Jeremiah on the internet.

(Blogger’s Note: If you find another Jeremiah who is funnier than me, keep it to your damn self!)

Mega props to my work-husband extraordinaire, Ryan Gray for hooking me up with this link.

Now to start working on what I’d say to younger me, perhaps I can make an entire series out of that thought nugget.

While I’m working on that, how’s about y’all hit up the comments and let me know what you’d talk about if given the opportunity to chat it up with younger you.

  1. Thanks for the shout-out! (Thank BoingBoing, too, for being the best news-source EVER.)

We had to write an essay in high school where our current self met and our child self. Kinda troubling. But fascinating. We also wrote to ourselves in 5 years and our teacher mailed them to us later. Maybe Stockton teachers were a little cuckoo??

    • That is a little cuckoo, but kind of awesome too.

It would have been cool to write myself a bunch of emails with the “delayed send” thing set. Granted, I don’t think Hotmail had that capability back in the day (or maybe even today) so it wouldn’t have done me much good.

I guess for now, I’ll just keep waiting on a time machine.

  2. THAT WAS SO AWESOME!! As far as what I would talk about with my younger self…I have absolutely no idea! Actually, the first thing that comes to mind would be words of encouragement such as “Life actually DOES get better after high school”.

    • Definitely a good starting place. It should be imperative that kids are told that pretty much every day of their lives. High school blows for roughly 90% of the population…it’d be best if they knew that life doesn’t have to be just like that forever.
