MIT (More or Less) Causes Election Controversy in Colorado

I’m not a political fella.

This is a fact that I’ve established time and time again here on this blog.

Granted, I’ve been more political in the last two months than in every other moment of my life combined, but I’m still thinking that we may have reached that point in the election process where things have gotten entirely too nutty and we just need to reach the finish line as soon as possible.

Or at least that’s the vibe I’m getting thanks to this post over at DenverPost.com:

According to Alton Dillard, a spokesman for the Denver Clerk and Recorder’s office, a veteran poll worker waved a distress flag and called for a supervisor when she spotted a young woman in the lobby of the Denver Elections Division wearing what she believed was a sweatshirt violating the state’s electioneering law.

The garment bore the letters “MIT.”

The state’s electioneering law forbids anyone from attempting to express support for or against a candidate or issue within 100 feet of a polling place. That includes signs, buttons and yes, T-shirts and other clothing.

“I was in the area, saw the shirt and assured the worker that there was only one ‘T,’ so the voter was not electioneering,” Dillard said.

Holy Balls.

I can’t wait to see what happens down south when all those Crimson Tide fans roll in wearing their ‘Bama sweatshirts. It’s gonna be like Thunderdome at those polling locations!!

At least we’re down to under 48 hours left of this election nonsense, y’all.

Hang in there.
