Real Actors Read Yelp Reviews

You may have already seen this, but it’s too entertaining not to share with all y’all.

Last week, YouTube user, gottakidtofeed uploaded a video of actor Chris Kipiniak giving the “dramatic reading” treatment to a one-star Yelp review.

It’s amusing because the review, like so many on Yelp, is pretty asinine.

The reviewer goes on about how good the food was, but thought the staff was kinda weird, so he gave the restaurant one-star.

Luckily, Kipiniak takes the ridiculousness of the reviewer’s write-up and cranks it to eleven by treating it as a very, very serious piece of prose.

Here is the initial entry in the ever-expanding “Real Actors Read Yelp” series:

Right?!

Hilarium.

The best part is that they just keep getting better.

In the second installment, audio-book narrator and actress Therese Plummer reads a tongue-in-cheek four star review of a restaurant in London that resulted in digestive pyrotechnics for the reviewer.

The most recent (as of today) video features Brian O’Neill reading a one-star review for a music venue in California that contains the single-greatest line in Yelp history: “You owe us 25 minutes of vodka.”

Honestly, I’m a little nervous that some of my less-than-eloquent Yelp reviews could find their way into the mix.

Let’s be real here, y’all, the last thing I need is this dude dragging Carrot Top out of whatever crack den he’s living in to read my one-star review of the now-defunct KFC/Taco Bell that I used to frequent on laundry days.

I don’t need that kind of pressure riding on my Yelp reviews. No one does.

Anyway, the dude behind the entire concept is now seeking input for which reviews to feature next. If you’ve stumbled upon a particularly absurd Yelp review, email joe@gottakidtofeed.com and it just might get featured in this series.
