Cats! Computers! Careers! Comics!

I’ve given a couple of shout-outs to the folks at “Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal” for their always entertaining comics, but today they’ve managed to hit a huge home run that I just have to share with y’all.

If you’ve been obsessively stalking me on the interwebs—as you should be—you know that there are two major things going on in my life right now.

The first is that I’m pretty much burnt out at work thanks to a couple of ridiculously long weeks coupled with a lot of other issues that are finally driving me to what the cool kids are calling “my breaking point.”

The second is that Grace and I are getting closer and closer by the day to finally adopting a cat and bringing a tiny, cuddly ball of cuteness into our apartment.

As such, my thoughts lately have been pretty much ping-ponging back and forth between how much I’m annoyed with my job and how much I want a cat.

…and then today’s comic came out over at SMBC:

How perfect is that?!

Perhaps I’ve been getting my signals crossed and what I really want isn’t job satisfaction or a cat, it is to quit my job and become a cat!!

You can just do that, right?!

I’ve been scouring the interwebs all morning looking for the proper paperwork or applications or whatever to make this happen, but I don’t see anything anywhere.

If someone can hook a dude up, that would be swell.

Until then, I guess I’ll be sitting in my cubicle—bathed in artificial light and sorrow—searching Petfinder.com.

  1. The cats are calling you. You know you want one. Your computer keyboard needs a new warm, furry covering.

    • I think if it were up to me, we’d have like 28 cats by now…and I think that might be overkill.

Grace is could at keeping me level-headed(ish) with this type of thing.

  2. This sounds a lot like my current state of being, except I’m trolling Petfinder for a daschund I can dress in hot dog buns.

    • I really hope they’ve got special search criteria to make that an easy task.
