As I mentioned previously, Grace and I were headed to the woods for a week of seclusion and wilderness with her family. This obviously meant one thing, grilling. Lots and lots of grilling.
Grace’s aforementioned brother-in-law, Chad (who, by-the-by, is freakin’ awesome) and I were both very intent on eating like Gods whilst in the woods. As such, we treated ourselves to some thick-cut bacon, some Chipotle Cheddar cheese, a six-hundred pound bag of tortilla chips and an eighty-gallon drum of nacho cheese (note: measurements may be hyperbolic, but not by much) and headed into the woods.
On night one, we decided to fire up the grill, crack open some beers, and rock the crap outta some Chipotle Bacon Cheeseburgers…
Cheeseburger #065
What: Chipotle Bacon Cheeseburger
When: June 13, 2010
Where: A fancy cabin in the remote woods of Wisconsin
How (was it): It was pretty freakin’ good, not gonna lie. I was the grill master on this particular evening, which was a bit daunting as I’m still a novice in the ways of warming meat for consumption by others, but I took it in stride.
I cooked up some chicken that went over well—which is good because I NEVER grill chicken—and I made some burgers for Chad and I which turned out pretty darn good.
Unfortunately, I overcooked the burgers a bit—a common mishap when toying with frozen patties—but the awesome bacon and cheese on top pretty much nullified that fact. The burger was still awesome and made my face super, super happy.
